Dr. Deborah Collins joined Moscow Medical in Sept 2014, after relocating to the Palouse with her family from the Washington, DC area. Previously, Dr. Collins was caring for patients and teaching resident physicians and medical students at Georgetown University School of Medicine and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. However, she describes herself as “small-town girl at heart,” having grown up in a small Iowa farm town. She decided to attend medical school with the goal of becoming a primary care physician in a community practice and getting to know her patients as individuals over the years. As a parent of three young children, Dr. Collins understands the needs and concerns involved with family medical care. She also has years of experience in caring for adolescents and young adults as well as those with multiple complex or age-related medical issues.

Dr. Collins is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. She completed her under graduate studies at Iowa State University and a Master of Science in Public Health in maternal and child health at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr Collins received her MD Degree from Duke University School of Medicine and completed a family medicine residency at the University of North Carolina. Her other interests include singing and playing the piano, cycling, theater, and trying out new recipes in the kitchen.
