Deborah Collins, MD
Dr. Deborah Collins joined Moscow Medical in Sept 2014, after relocating to the Palouse with her family from the Washington, DC area. Previously, Dr. Collins was caring for patients and teaching resident physicians and medical students at Georgetown University School of Medicine and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. However, she describes herself as “small-town girl at heart,” having grown up in a small Iowa farm town. She decided to attend medical school with the goal of becoming a primary care physician in a community practice and getting to know her patients as individuals over the years. As a parent of three young children, Dr. Collins understands the needs and concerns involved with family medical care. She also has years of experience in caring for adolescents and young adults as well as those with multiple complex or age-related medical issues.
Dr. Collins is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. She completed her under graduate studies at Iowa State University and a Master of Science in Public Health in maternal and child health at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr Collins received her MD Degree from Duke University School of Medicine and completed a family medicine residency at the University of North Carolina. Her other interests include singing and playing the piano, cycling, theater, and trying out new recipes in the kitchen.
Jessica Cruz, PA-C
Jessica began her career in healthcare as a Certified Athletic Trainer after graduating, Suma Cum Laude, from California State University – Fresno with a B.S. degree in Kinesiology. While she loved working with student athletes, she felt limited in the scope of care she could provide, so she decided to continue her education in the healthcare field and found family medicine to be her passion. After attending the University of Idaho, Jessica went on to earn her master’s degree from Idaho State University, though if you ask her she is a Vandal at heart. Jessica and her family love attending as many Vandal and high school sporting events that they can.
Jessica is truly excited for the opportunity to provide optimal healthcare to the residents of her community. Having grown up in a small agricultural town in California, Jessica and her husband knew they wanted to provide a similar experience for their own children, where they could get to know their neighbors and be part of a tight-knit community. Throughout her training Jessica always took the time to understand the daily lives of those she was treating and learned that the treatment for an ill college student is not necessarily the same for a working mother. Taking the time to know her patients has been Jessica’s priority and has aided her in providing the best healthcare treatment possible.
